A WHIB Explanation- 'Where have I been?"

It has probably become very apparent over the past few months that I have been rather awol here on my blog. Rather than this being down to laziness, I have been incredibly busy! Rather than bore you with a long paragraph of boring explanations (they shall come later and won't be boring) I shall provide a quick breakdown of where I've been and what I've been doing since my last post way back in April:
May- June: Munich, Germany
For about 5 weeks I completed an international secondment with my workplace and helped to open one of our news store (along with my super colleagues- super shout out to you guys!). The hours were not joyful (6am-5pm or 10am-9pm) so on the days I was working early, I wanted to go into the city in the evenings and when I worked the late shift, I wanted a lay in in the mornings...that leaves my days off to find time to write but then I was making here there and everywhere trips around Bavaria to some amazing places (Mittenwald, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, etc) so sadly I still didn't have much time to write. But but but from the various places I visited, I now have quite a lot of content for future posts! Stay tuned!
BONUS- June: Chester, England
It would of course be rude not to mention the two famous faces I spotted back during my brief stop back on home soil. Whilst I was in Munich I heard that Her Majesty the Queen would be making a trip to Chester in June along with The Duchess of Sussex and as luck would have it (as well as waiting for about 4 hours) I was lucky enough to see them both! I also waited for them whilst they visited the town hall (another 1 hour 45 mins on top) and I'm glad I waited as the Queen was grinning ear to ear and did her little wave on the way out! A fantastic day and I'm very grateful I was able to be there!
July: British Columbia, Canada
During this month, I was lucky enough to hop over the water to visit my wacky Canadian relatives and go on trips with them around and about in British Columbia and over on Vancouver Island. I went to my first Canadian Football Game, bought up Tim Horton's supply of raisin-bran muffins andeven went caving! I also went on two camping trips which meant no wifi! (Something I 100% approve of as it's called the great outdoors, duh!). I did however take plenty of photos so they'll be more to come! (Jet lag also delayed me rather a bit as I kept lolling off to sleep at odd hours of the day.) (Jet lag + Maintaining a normal sleeping pattern = Nope!).
August - Melsungen, Germany
Just a few days after I came back from Canada, I popped on a plane over to my second home, Germany! I popped there with a family member and to say the heat was oppressive was an understatement!! One example was our trip to Heidelberg where the heat hit 36°!!! Alas we had a lovely AirBnB host (who bought us bread rolls on the weekend!) and made our way around a few familiar haunts as best as we could and my new post will focus on the town where we stayed during our trip, Melsungen!
May-August: University Dissertation
Whilst I was making all these mad trips around, I still had my university dissertation to write... a procrastinator you say? Yep! I had been working on it since the beginning of the year but it just kept getting put off and resulted in me writing up paragraphs on my lunch breaks at work and practically living in the library for the last 2 weeks before it was due. In my defense, I did eventually finish it before the deadline!

The result of living like a hermit in the library: An eventually completed German dissertation.
All in all this time of the year has been very, very busy! Now that I have finished university and most of my trips (hint hint at 'most'), I will hopefully have a bit more time to write and share my trips and tales!
As ever make sure to keep up to date with my Instagram page (https://www.instagram.com/dunsterchecksin/) and check back soon for my next post!
